Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles recipe


The ingredients: 

  •     1/2 cup butter, softened
  •     1 1/2 cups white sugar
  •     2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  •     1/2 cup shortening
  •     2 eggs
  •     2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  •     2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  •     1/4 teaspoon salt
  •     1 teaspoon baking soda
  •     2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  •     2 tablespoons white sugar


Directions



  1. Before starting, Preheat oven to  (200 degrees C) 400 degrees F.
  2. Cream together 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening,  the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in cream of tartar,  the flour , soda and salt. Then, Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.
  3. After that, Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Then besure to Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place two inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  4. Bake  until set but not too hard  for 8 to 10 minutes, 
  5.  Remove immediately from baking sheets
