Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread






The ingredients; 

  •      1/2 cup butter
  •     2/3 cup white sugar
  •     1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  •     2 eggs
  •     1 cup buttermilk
  •     1 cup cornmeal
  •     1/2 teaspoon salt
  •     1 cup all-purpose flour





Directions




  1.     Firstly,Preheat oven to  (175 degrees C)  375 degrees F. Grease an 8 inch square pan.
  2.     After that, Melt butter in large skillet. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Quickly add eggs and beat until well blended. 
  3.    After that, Combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into mixture in pan. Then be  sure to Stir until well blended   in cornmeal, flour, and salt and a couple of lumps remain. then do not forget to Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  4.    Finally,  Bake for 30 to 40 minutes  in the preheated oven , until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
