THE INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt]
- 7 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter cut in small slices
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven 425 degrees
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper
- Whisk flour, baking powder, salt & baking soda in large bowl.
- Cut butter into flour mixture until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in flour mixture. Pour in 3/4 cup buttermilk, stir until just mixed.
- Turn dough onto floured work surface, pat together, turn again and pat together again, continue to knead a few more times.
- Roll dough on a floured surface to about 1/2" thick.
- Cut out 12 biscuits using a 2 1/2" young biscuit cutter.
- Put biscuits on baking sheet. Press an small indent into the top of each biscuit with thumb or finger.
- Bake in preheated oven until browned, 15 minutes.
- Allow to cool. Brush each biscuits with melted butter....
