THE INGREDIENTS
- 1 whole chicken
- 1/2 (lb)pack of bacon
- 2 white onions
- 3 carrots,sliced
- 1 sprig thyme
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1/2 clove garlic,crushed
- 12 peppercorns
- 1 1/4 cups white wine
- Cooked rice, to serve
DIRECTIONS
- Place chicken in salted water an hour before you put it in the slow cooker.
- Drain and place in slow cooker.
- Cut the bacon and combine with all the ingredients except the rice. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours .
- Remove thyme spring and serve over a plate of rice.
